Thank you, Cluj-Napoca! 🇪🇺

We were delighted to welcome the STARHAUS consortium to the Glass Hall of Cluj-Napoca City Hall, in a meeting dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and the role of citizens in shaping the future of European cities.

Through STARHAUS, funded by Horizon Europe, Cluj-Napoca becomes one of the two pilot administrative units, alongside the Inter-Municipal Community of Coimbra, Portugal, testing a new model of decentralized urban production: closer to people, more sustainable, more adaptable, and more connected to local communities.

A sincere thank you to our project coordinator, SINTEF, to Babeș-Bolyai University, to the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca, and to all 13 partners from 7 European countries involved in this ambitious initiative.

Special thanks to Chandana Ratnayake, Linda Napoletano, Alex Butean, Ana Solange Leal, Juan Enriquez, Raluca Antonie, and to all consortium representatives for their valuable contributions.

We also thank Mrs. Maria Forna, Prefect of Cluj County, Prof. Călin Hințea, Dean of FSPAC – Babeș-Bolyai University, and Prof. Roger Hamlin, Associate Dean for International Relations, for joining this important dialogue.

Cluj-Napoca continues to be a European laboratory of ideas: a place where solutions can be tested locally and replicated internationally, with citizens at the heart of the innovation process.
